Bussing Information

Stop for flashing lights!

State law requires every driver to stop when meeting or overtaking, from either direction, a stopped school bus with flashing red lights. The driver shall not proceed until the school bus resumes motion or the flashing red lights are no longer activated. When meeting a school bus with activated flashing red lights you may pass, only if there is a physical barrier or separate roadways between your vehicle and the school bus.  A picture is provided for to better understand the law.  (Taken from drive-safely.net/author Mike Rogers). If a person does pass a school bus with flashing red lights, they face a fine of $420.  If caught again within one year, they may have to make a mandatory appearance in court and face a penalty up to $1000.

The Bus Route Student Lists and times are listed on the school website. In an effort to make better use of routes and times some changes have occurred. Please check your students pick up and drop off times as some the times have changed.
We will still be offering three student activity buses running at 6:00 p.m. The routes will run the same as last year and there will only be right hand drop offs on all activity buses. Arrangements will have to be made with the transportation department, Please call Kevin and we will work it out. 856-7970 ext.  4

Note to Parents:
In an effort to further promote student safety on activity routes, the district is implementing a third activity bus route. Starting October 8, 2012, all Mon. – Thurs. activity routes will ONLY have right-hand unloading of students. Students will not be dropped off to cross the highway. Parents/guardians will have the option of picking up their children on the right hand side of the road or have their children ride the loop of each route for a right hand drop off.

The 8 mile bus will leave school and run its regular route down 8 mile road and will be turning around at the highway 26 pull out. It will then return to school via 8 mile road. Any students that live on the east side of 8 mile will be left off on the return trip.
The Kinnear bus will leave school and proceed to Kinnear then on to the old pepsi sign turn around and back to the Kinnear spur and then back to school.

[08/21/2013] The 8 mile activity bus stop on 8 mile and Blue Shale road has been moved to the corner of Blue Shale and Davids Way

The Crowheart bus will leave school and proceed along highway 26 to its Crowheart stops and then return the same route .
No students will be left to cross the highway. Any questions or concerns, please contact Kevin Schieffer at the garage. 856-7970 ext. 4
